The careful and environmentally friendly renovation of an old house of farmers, wants to make your stay comfortable and relaxing quite as in an ancient atmosphere. We find, in fact, the granary where grain was stored and the room where tobacco was put to dry, converted into comfortable rooms with bathroom, air conditioning, free WIFI and TV.

    The heart of the house, characterized by an ancient scale made of “tufo” and typical Lecce stone, includes a large kitchen and a refined living room with fireplace from where you can access to the terrace above.

    Upon awakening, our Italian breakfast will be enriched by "marenda", a typical farmer's breakfast, based on “frise” (typical bread), tomatoes, olive oil and bread with olives, without renouncing at coffee, milk and fruit juices.

    The terrace can be experienced by guests of the house to relax during the day and evening and for tasty snacks too. Here a striking view of the city is dominated by three steeples of ancient churches.

The Bed and breakfast

Here a striking view of the city is dominated by three steeples of ancient churches. The terrace can be experienced by guests of the house to relax during the day and evening and for tasty snacks too.

Upon awakening, our Italian breakfast will be enriched by "marenda", a typical farmer's breakfast, based on “frise” (typical bread), tomatoes, olive oil and bread with olives, everything enriched by a thousand of scents and aromas characteristic of that sea and that land wich, out of town, you can hesitate to smell and feel.

The PlaceGallipoli and its coast

Bed and breakfast “Letto e Merenda” is located a few kilometers from the city of Gallipoli and it’s a compelling alternative to fully enjoy the charm of Salento staying in the peaceful town of Nardò , which has a strategic location. In fact it is just four kilometers from the sea of Santa Caterina and half hour driving from Lecce , the capital of the Baroque.

The charm of this stretch of the Ionian is incredible, just as the Bay of Portoselvaggio that surprise you before arriving in Gallipoli. Seen from above, the beautiful oasis , regional natural park , can only leave you in silence , with its crystal clear sea , flowers , bushes.

"La Pila" is a charming studio apartment with a characteristic barrel ceiling and a lovely terrace, carefully renovated and furnished. It is completely independent of the B&B but in the same street. It has a kitchen area, private restroom and it can accommodate 2 adults and 2 children or 3 adults. Ideal for families!

TobaccoDouble or twin

The hooks on the ceiling of this room are statement of the work related to tobacco harvesting. 'Pumuli' were hung here, which were the crowns of tobacco harvested in the fields, patiently stuck with the 'acuceddhe' and dried under the sun in what was told 'tiraletti'. The room, twin or double, has a very nice bathroom with shower and an antique marble sink, TV and air conditioning.

This was the room of grandfather Totò. The room is located on the ground floor, with private entrance, TV and air conditioning. It can be double or twin and has the ability to accommodate a third person. It has en-suite bathroom with shower and its own sink toilet recalls grandfather Totò’s old one with 'limba' and 'capasa' (sink and pitcher).

Rafela's room can be accessed from an ancient scale of 'tufo' and local stone as well as from the main entrance. The hand decorated furniture, reminiscent of what the industrious hands of Salento women embroidered on the dowry of 'zita' (bride). The room, twin or double, has a third bed and a single bed, air conditioning and TV. The bathroom in the room is comfortable and has a large shower.

It’s of the most characteristic rooms of the house, it has 4 hatches on the floor through which you access the bay were grains, legumes and olives were stored. It has a wooden ceiling and a lovely double suspended bed, TV and air conditioning. In this room, the decor and furnishings make you relive the agricultural world of our grandparents, recreating the simplicity and the warm atmosphere of the past. The private bathroom is in the hall close to the room and has a comfortable shower, it is very large and decorated with two ancient marble sinks.
